What Does Zika Virus Mean for Worker Safety?

You've probably heard the word "Zika" in the news lately. Zika is a disease transmitted by Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes and certain regions of the world are reporting an alarming increase in infections. Travelers are being warned of an increased risk for contracting this illness and women who are pregnant (or about to be) must use particular caution due to Zika's link with birth defects. It is likely that the mosquitos known to carry the virus will be active in the southern half of the United States in spring and summer 2016 which affects any businesses with outdoor jobsites and work crews.
